Musician Cell7 celebrates the release of her third album Deep Cuts with a release concert at Silfurtungl in Austurbæjarbíó.
As a veteran of the Icelandic rap scene, Cell7 has real soul, strength and insight and a full frontal arsenal of rhymes that show that she is ready to decimate any preconceptions of what Icelandic music should sound like.
She returns this year with her third solo album, Deep Cuts and proves yet again that she is one of the most original voices out there.
Her new album Deep Cuts will be performed in its entirety, along with handpicked selection from her previous records.
Joining Cell7 on stage will be Kristinn Gunnar Blöndal on keyboards and Elli Bang on drums. Kristinn Gunnar, perhaps better known as DJ KGB, has also been an active figure in the Icelandic music scene for decades, playing in bands such as Ensími, Mr. Silla, and Botnleðja. Elli, drummer of the legendary hardcore band I Adapt, also played with Ojba Rasta and the post-punk alternative rock band Fufanu.
Akureyri’s own legend and poet Kött Grá Pjé will deliver rhymes from the darkest corners of the North. He released the album Dulræn Atferlismeðferð in 2024, which earned him the Kraumur Music Award that same year.
It would be downright crazy for hip-hop fans — or anyone else — to miss out on this celebration. Tickets are limited!
