Answers to frequently asked questions about buying tickets at Tix.is, including age limits, discounts and payment options.

Tix does not set any rules regarding the age limit for ticket buyers beyond what general rules about financial independence state. However, some events do have age restrictions and may require ID at the door.

All ticket prices are determined by the event organiser each time, and it is up to them whether a discount for seniors and/or disabled individuals is offered. If available, it is indicated in the purchasing process for each event and/or a special type of ticket is available.

Generally, for each event, it is allowed to purchase a maximum of 10 tickets. However, there may be exceptions to this rule set by the event organizer, for instance, in the case of limited ticket availability for a popular event. If there are larger orders than 10 tickets, the staff at Tix Ticket Sales can assist you. It is best to send an email to info@tix.is with all the information.

Yes, during the purchase process, ticket refund protection is offered as part of the purchase for some events on Tix.is. The terms and conditions of the ticket refund protection provider, JMM Ireland, can be accessed by clicking here.

By purchasing ticket refund protection, the ticket holder agrees to the provider's terms and conditions and the possible submission of data for a refund request. Ticket refund protection is not refundable under any circumstances. Please note that ticket refund protection only covers tickets, not food, drinks, or other merchandise. We encourage ticket holders to familiarise themselves with the terms and conditions of the ticket refund protection to understand in which cases a refund can be requested through its provider.


Several payment methods are available; you can pay with all major credit cards, Pay Léttkaup, Aur, Kass, and Netgíró. It is also possible to use Tix.is gift cards for purchases.

No, it is not necessary to log in. On the login page during the purchasing process, there is a button below that says 'Skip login.' 

You can click on it and go directly to the purchase process. The reason many choose to log in is that it allows you to keep track of all your ticket purchases with Tix on my pages.

Of course! You can reach us by phone at 551-3800 on weekdays between 12-16.

Both Tix employees answer the phone, and we also use a phone answering service where their staff are ready to answer all common questions, and calls are then forwarded to Tix employees if needed.

Sorry about that! It is good to start by checking if the card number is entered correctly, the expiration date, and such. If the error message appears again, we encourage you to contact us via info@tix.is or at +354 551-3800.

Payment is not taken twice, but if you believe this has happened, please let us know so we can ensure it is resolved.

Tickets

All the answers to questions about Tix tickets: reselling, printing, e-tickets and more.

When you purchase tickets or gift cards from Tix, whether through the website or by phone, you have 14 days from the purchase to cancel and request a refund from Tix. However, this does not apply to tickets purchased when there are fewer than 14 days until the event.

You are free to resell the tickets at face value to another person, and we can change the name of the tickerholder upon request.

It is a good idea to start by checking if the payment went through on your card or the payment method you used for the purchase.

Likewise, we recommend checking if the confirmation email from us ended up in the spam folder. If you cannot find the tickets, please contact info@tix.is.

No, that is not necessary. It is sufficient to have the ticket in electronic form, whether it's a picture of the ticket, an email on your phone, in the Nova app, or similar.

All tickets from Tix automatically go into the Nova app, and we recommend downloading it as it offers a very convenient way to store your tickets. You can also download the tickets in PDF format.

All tickets are sent via email in PDF format. If you wish to have them printed, you can either visit our office at Hallgerðargata 13 or send us an email, and we can mail them to you, but a postage fee applies for such a service.

It is not necessary unless it is specifically stated in the event description or during the purchase process.

Unfortunately, this is not possible as each event has different organisers and Tix's role is to provide them with a sales platform. Therefore, it is not possible to transfer tickets between different events as they may have different organisers.

Giftcards

Everything you need to know about gift cards at Tix, including electronic gift cards, terms of use, and expiration dates.

Yes, that's no problem at all - all gift cards are sent electronically via email to the address provided at the time of purchase.

If you wish for the gift card to be sent to another email address, you can forward it directly from the receipt page, download it to the device you used for the purchase and forward it that way, or contact us at info@tix.is

Yes, it is possible. If you find that you cannot use the gift card during the purchasing process, please contact us at info@tix.is.

No, that’s not necessary.

Yes, if you wish to have it sent to you, you can select that option in the purchasing process, and we will send it to you by regular mail, for which a postage fee applies. Please keep in mind that during busy periods such as Christmas, delivery times may be delayed, so we recommend ordering in advance.

No, that’s not possible.

Our gift cards are valid for two years from the day of purchase.

You can easily check the balance on a gift card by clicking the 'Check Balance' button at the top of this page.

Please send us an email at info@tix.is. We will cancel the previous gift card and send you a new one.

The same refund policies apply to gift cards as to ticket purchases; they can be returned for a full refund within the first 14 days after purchase.

We encourage you to use the gift card within 2 years from the date of purchase, but if your card has recently expired and you were unable to use it, you can contact us at info@tix.is.

Events

Information about accessibility, photography, changes to events and rules regarding age restrictions at events.

If an event is canceled, ticket holders are offered comparable tickets for the next event date or a full refund of the ticket. Ticket holders are contacted via email and, in some cases, also via SMS. If you do not see the email, we encourage you to check your spam folder as well.

If there is an age limit for access to an event, it is always stated in the purchasing process or in the event description. The age limit for an event is determined by the curfew laws of child protection and the laws regarding establishments serving alcohol.

Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to stay inside an establishment with a license to serve alcohol after 8:00 PM until the closing time of the establishment, unless accompanied by a guardian. The event organiser may set further rules regarding age limits, which take precedence over the rules set in the terms of Tix.

All event management is the responsibility of the event organiser. They always strive to ensure accessibility for the disabled. Tix encourages event organizers to consider this to ensure accessibility for all. Restrictions may arise due to different event locations or the nature of events, but if there are any questions about accessibility, you can always ask us via info@tix.is.

Rules regarding this vary; at many events, it is allowed, but event organisers may set rules prohibiting it along with security at the venue. Tix, as the ticket seller, does not set rules in this regard.

Refunds

Information on refunds on Tix.is: canceled events, ticket and gift card returns, and cancellation protection.

If an event is canceled, ticket holders are offered comparable tickets for the next event date or a full refund of the ticket.

No, such circumstances do not qualify for a refund. We encourage you to purchase ticket refund protection, which covers various situations that may prevent you from attending, such as illness (with a medical certificate), death, or severe weather conditions that cause road closures. Additionally, you are almost always allowed to resell the ticket at face value to another person.

When you purchase tickets or gift cards from Tix, whether through the website or by phone, you have 14 days from the purchase to cancel and request a refund from Tix. However, this does not apply to tickets purchased when there are fewer than 14 days until the event.

It is possible if the ticket purchase falls under the general refund policy.

The same refund policies apply to gift cards as to ticket purchases; they can be returned for a full refund within the first 14 days after purchase.

On the login page, there is an option 'Forgot password'. If you have lost your password, you can have a new one sent to your email.

The passwords are sent directly from our email system and may have ended up in the spam folder, so we encourage you to check there if you believe the password has not been delivered.

Streaming

Information on refunds for streaming, supported devices and availability of streaming on TV.

You are entitled to a refund if you accidentally purchased two or more tickets due to technical difficulties, used the same email address both times, and genuinely contacted us for assistance before the extra tickets were purchased.

Likewise, you are entitled to a refund if the streaming event was canceled or did not take place for any reason.

Most televisions, smart devices, computers, and software can be used for streaming. If there are specific requirements, they will be stated in the event description or in another prominent place.

As a buyer, you are responsible for ensuring that the equipment (receiver, software, internet connection) you intend to use to watch the streaming event meets the requirements to receive the stream. The quality of the stream may vary depending on the equipment you use to watch the event.

Broadcasters handle the streaming, and generally, it is accessible through their providers. In some cases, the event organiser makes the stream available through YouTube or another similar platform, but ticket holders will receive all relevant information following their ticket purchase.
