Pianist Ingi Bjarni Skúlason leads a quintet through his original music. The concert will feature music from his quintet albums Tenging (2019) and Farfuglar (2023). It will also include material from his new quartet album Hope (2025), released earlier this year. Ingi Bjarni has performed his own compositions with a wide range of musicians in Iceland, Japan, and across Europe, published sheet music, and more. He has received significant attention and recognition for his albums, all of which have been positively reviewed in international media. At the 2025 Icelandic Music Awards, he won the award for Jazz Composition of the Year 2024. He was also nominated as Jazz Performer of the Year and for Jazz Album of the Year.

Hope is not simply an album; it is a quiet triumph, a testament to art’s enduring power to transform pain into something truly luminous. Each note feels deliberately placed, building a narrative that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. It invites you to lean in, to listen closely, and to find your reflections within its beautiful depths.”All About Jazz (USA)
