The techno-violin duo Geigen invites young audiences and their families into a cosmic violin universe. In this world, the past, present and future come together in a techno party. Geigen are extra-terrestrial beings who live in this undefined world. They are both violinists and guides and use their instruments to narrate a mysterious story. They do not use words to express themselves, but rather the language of the violin and electronic, unearthly sounds, created by the touch of bow and string. The two beings are synchronized in their movements and through their music they inspire physical expression among the guests.

The show is 25 minutes long and is suitable for children aged 4 and up. Younger children are welcome.

ATTN: The event is seatless and features rhythmic music at a child-friendly volume but may be disturbing to very sensitive ears.

Geigen was formed in San Francisco in the fall of 2018 by Gígja Jónsdóttir and Pétur Eggertsson. Geigen has performed at various festivals and venues in Iceland such as Reykjavík Dance Festival, LungA, Raflost, Norðanpaunk and more. Geigen has also created concert experiences for children for the Big Bang festival in Reykjavík and Luxembourg. In 2022, they composed the dance performance Geigengeist in collaboration with the Iceland Dance Company, which received five nominations for the Icelandic Performing Arts Awards and won the prize for music, costumes and light design of the year.
