Jean Louis Beaumadier, the world famous piccoloplayer is visiting Iceland for the first time.

The piccolo has been best known as an orchestral insturment, but here is given an opportunity to listen to the piccolo as a solo instrument. We may expect a unique concert where we get to know the piccolo´s countless nuances, where the velvet and at the same time elegant tone will amaze the audience.

Following performers will also take part in the concert:

Veronique Poltz, pianist and composer

Catarina Compagno, new piccoloplayer of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra

Martial Nardeau, former piccoloplayer of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra

Petrea Óskarsdóttir flute- and piccoloplayer of the North Icelandic Symphony Orchestra

Pamela De Sensi fluteplayer

The program includes a variety of music from the first decade of the 20th Century, ranging from charming French late romanticism to singing and lively new Icelandic Music written by Martial Nardeau, Haraldur V. Sveinbjörnsson and Steingrímur Þórhallsson.

Admission is free for children 12 years and younger.
