We are pleased to welcome the renowned Swedish male choir the Svanholm Singers to join the Icelandic male choir Kyrja in a concert in Aðventkirkjan this May 17th!

Together, we present a program dedicated to the Nordics, especially the smallest communities in the farthest reaches. From classics by Edvard Grieg and Ola Gjeilo to completely new works from Greenland and beyond, with an emphasis on the smallest communities in the farthest reaches. A lot unites the nations of Iceland and Sweden but in particular it is our love of song. In that spirit, we join together in a celebration of our shared culture of singing.

Conducted by Sofia Söderberg, the Svanholm singers are a major force in Swedish choral singing, with a long list of collaborations, world tours, and awards.

Kyrja is a male vocal ensemble founded in 2022 with the aim of pushing the limits of choral music. The group is under the artistic direction of Philip Barkhudarov and Sólveig Sigurðardóttir.
