13 December
The concert is approximately 70 minutes, no intermission.
This festive concert with Thor Breidfjord celebrates the timeless charm of classic crooners. You'll hear all your holiday favorites, from The Christmas Song and Silent Night to Little Town of Bethlehem and more. The concert also draws inspiration from legendary voices like Michael Bublé, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett.
In addition to these classics, the program features Icelandic Christmas songs arranged in the style of the Nat King Cole trio. While the core of the arrangements is rooted in that iconic style, the genius of these celebrated musicians may take the music to new, unexpected heights during the performance. The trio of instrumentalists includes some of Iceland's most acclaimed jazz musicians.
Thor Breidfjord, one of Iceland's leading "crooner" vocalists, is well-known for his Christmas album Jól í stofunni (available on Spotify). He has also been nominated for the East Coast Music Awards in Canada for his solo album Running Naked, he premiered and starred in his own musical this year, and enjoyed a long, successful career in London's West End before returning to his native Iceland.
