DesignTalks, an internationally acclaimed conference and the keynote event of the DesignMarch festival will take place April 2nd 2025. The event is an important platform for inspiration and insights into the now and near and current challenges and opportunities of designers, architects and creative leaders, both local and international.

The overall theme for both DesignMarch and DesignTalks in 2025 is The source.

“The source can have multiple meanings, but I think of it as a certain counterpoint to the current instability. Most commonly The source marks a moment in time where something begins or springs into being, eg. a source of ideas, inspiration or life, but it is also a metaphor for revisiting ideas, taking a step back, reconnecting with the roots, a moment to clear our minds, or to restore ourselves. It will be exciting to see how participants both in DesignMarch and DesignTalks will respond to and expand on it, in the months to come” - Hlín Helga, DesignTalks curator.

DesignTalks has been the signature event for DesignMarch from the beginning and has taken place for a full house in Harpa through the years. Hlín Helga Guðlaugsdóttir, designer is the curator of the day and event is produced by the center of Iceland Design and Architecture.

DesignMarch is Iceland's leading design festival, bringing together people and progressive design and innovation since 2009. The festival heralds new and surprising approaches and is a vibrant platform for ideas, diverse perspectives and knowledge driving force that enriches and enhances society.
