Korobka

A contemporary circus duet

By untangling the knots of relationships and navigating the unpredictable course of processes, the artists capture time in its fleeting moments and challenge the rules of gravity.

In the sublime simplicity of everyday life, they discover the vibrant pulse of love, and in Sisyphean movements, they sculpt time into their own rhythm, where the shadow of exhaustion is interwoven into their work.

With subtle humour, honesty and sweat, the performance touches on relatable universal experiences.

Swedish circus artists Henrik & Louise are not only partner acrobats, they are life partners, and have created this performance that can resonate with people at different time periods in their life.

Having co-founded the well known Cirkus Cirkör, they visited Iceland last time in 2013, when they performed on the big stage of Borgarleikhúsið as part of Cirkör’s performance Wear it like a Crown at Volcano Circus Festival in Reykjavík.

The performance is suitable for people 13 years or older.

The event is part of Hringleikur’s event series Side-Flipp, which serves as a prelude to the Flipp Festival - a circus festival taking place in the spring of 2025. Flipp Festival is supported by the Barnamenningarsjóður Children's Culture Fund. Their trip to Iceland is part of the circus pedagogic development project ARTiculate Network, coordinated by Baltic Nordic Circus Network.
