ANOK - Iceland Airwaves PARTNER EVENT @ Hallgrímskirkja

ANOK is a new composition by Högni Egilsson for Cantoque Ensemble, organ, cello, percussion, and soloists.

ANOK means “I.”

A voice appears. It names itself, breaks apart, returns as something else. First and last. Honored and despised. Mother and daughter.

Drawn from an ancient text discovered at Nag Hammadi, ANOK moves through repetition, rupture, breath, and resonance — the self not as something whole, but something unstable, split open, and constantly becoming.

The concert is a collaboration between Cantoque Ensemble, Iceland Airwaves and Hallgrímskirkja. It is a part of Hallgrímskirkja’s 2026 Autumn Concert Series and is presented as an Iceland Airwaves Partner Event.
