This concert will feature Falinn gjóður, Duft and Morjane Ténéré.

Harpa, in collaboration with the Reykjavík Music City and Rás 2, is hosting Upprásin, a concert series dedicated to grassroots Icelandic music, across musical genres. Upprásin is now taking place for the fourth year in a row and a total of 27 bands will perform, three on each concert night.

Ticket prices are only 2000 kr. but it is possible to contribute a higher amount during the ticket sales process, which will go directly to the artists.

Falinn Gjóður, (meaning hidden osprey) is a band that consists of three boys from Reykjavík, Iceland, who make progressive rock music. Despite being pretty new in the Icelandic music scene, they have had great success, even going so far as to winning the music competition “Músíktilraunir”. They very recently released an EP with the songs from Músíktilraunir and are now working on a bigger and better album.

The three boys are as follows,
Aron Elí Arnarsson: Bass and vocals.
Baldur Þórarinsson: Keyboard and vocals.
Þorri Hrafnsson: Guitar and vocals.

Their music has been biomedically engineered to give you the feeling of being an osprey in hiding. Perfect for any occasion.

Duft is a crushing hardcore and extreme metal band that has been gaining serious momentum since the release of its debut album, Altar of Instant Gratification, in spring 2024. Packed with neck-breaking anthems, the album paints a dark sonic landscape where humanity is hurtling toward inevitable destruction.

The band consists of Alexander Freyr Þorvarðarson (vocals), Viktor Árni Veigarsson (bass, backing vocals), Guðmundur Hermann Lárusson (guitar, backing vocals), Andrés Hjörvar Sigurðsson (guitar, backing vocals), and Mikael Magnússon (drums, backing vocals).

  Morjane Ténéré is a singer-songwriter inspired by folk and blues music. Her voice moves people to tears.  Ténéré means “desert” in Tamasheq, the language of the Tuareg people, yet it also evokes vastness, magic and resilience. The Ténéré region is known for its immense seas of sand and for the Tree of Ténéré, once considered one of the most isolated trees on Earth before its destruction.  This imagery resonates with the themes explored in Morjane's songs: the urgency of protecting our planet, honoring our ancestors, and nurturing bonds of sisterhood.  She has performed over 300 concerts around the world, from iconic Parisian concert halls to eco-villages, including occupied theaters in Athens and a lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Iceland.
