Liam Kaplan appears in a solo recital for the first time in Iceland since joining the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in 2024. He will perform two varied and imaginative cycles by Robert Schumann along with several of his own works.

Liam Kaplan graduated from Oberlin Conservatory after studying piano with Alvin Chow and composition with Stephen Hartke. He has been a member of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra since 2024. Liam has performed as soloist with various orchestras and received numerous awards for his work as both a pianist and a composer, including the BMI Young Composer Award in 2019. Liam is the pianist of the New Reykjavik Trio, founded in 2025. He has released several recordings, most recently the EP Sunflower Fields in 2025.
