The Iceland Symphony Orchestra invites guests and passersby to a Solar Eclipse Festival in Eldborg on Culture Night in Reykjavík, accompanied by our beloved Sævar Helgi Bragason. The concert will take us on a journey to the sun and the moon, while enjoying beautiful music. We’ll look at how sunlight is created, how the sun was born, and how it creates the northern lights. Then we’ll head to the moon, watching the moon's graceful dance around the Earth and how the moon is slowing down the Earth's rotation. Who knows, maybe solar and lunar eclipses will be involved? The concert will also feature simple demonstration experiments to deepen our understanding of the solar system. Everyone is welcome to a feast for the eyes and ears with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra at Culture Night in Reykjavík.
Admission to the concert is free and tickets can be obtained at sinfonia.is and at the Harpa box office on the day of the concert from 10:00.
