Í tilefni af komu japanska arkitektsins Kengo Kuma til landsins býður Arkitektafélag Íslands í samstarfi við Sendiráð Japan á Íslandi til sérstakrar kvikmyndasýningar á heimildamyndinni, particle dance.

Particle dance, eftir kvikmyndagerðarmanninn Hiromoto Oka, veitir einstaka innsýn í hugmyndaheim Kengo Kuma og nálgun hans á arkitektúr.

Myndin var nýverið heimsfrumsýnd á Copenhagen Architecture Biennial og hefur vakið athygli fyrir ljóðræna sýn á verk og hugsun arkitektsins.

Hiromoto Oka verður viðstaddur sýninguna og býður áhorfendum til samtals að sýningu lokinni.

Sýningin fer fram laugardaginn 2. maí kl. 17:00 í Bíó Paradís.

Sýningin er hluti af HönnunarMars, og er upptaktur af hátíðinni sem fer fram 6.-10. maí.

On the occasion of the visit of Japanese architect Kengo Kuma to Iceland, the Association of Architects in Iceland, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Iceland, invites guests to a special screening of the documentary particle dance.

Particle dance, by filmmaker Hiromoto Oka, offers a unique insight into Kuma’s creative universe and his approach to architecture.

The film recently had its world premiere at the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial and has attracted attention for its poetic portrayal of the architect’s work and thinking.

Hiromoto Oka will be present at the screening and will join the audience for a conversation following the film.

The screening will take place on Saturday, May 2 at 17:00 at Bíó Paradís.

The event is part of DesignMarch and serves as a prelude to the festival, which takes place May 6–10.
