In this program, Duo Ingolfsson–Stoupel leads the audience through a varied and personal exploration of 19th- and 20th-century music for violin/viola and piano. The program brings together lyrical intimacy, classical structure, and a rich palette of sound. The first half features Clara Schumann’s Three Romances, works marked by refinement and expressive depth, alongside the F–A–E Sonata by Dietrich, Schumann, and Brahms, reflecting the friendship and artistic dialogue among these composers. In the second half, the focus shifts to the viola: Rebecca Clarke’s Morpheus evokes a dreamlike atmosphere, and Richard Sortomme’s Rhapsody offers a free and vividly expressive musical language.
