the body symphonic is a solo performance-concert that translates the body into both instrument and archive.

Emerging from Lebanon’s recent upheavals, the work traverses memory, trauma, and resilience through movement, live music, and voice. Joined on-stage by virtuoso percussionist Joss Turnbull, Prince weaves together field recordings, poetic recitations, and percussion to create a hybrid form where choreography becomes sound and sound becomes choreography. At once meditation, purge, and prayer, the body symphonic insists on the body’s power as a site of resistance and self-representation. It gestures toward futurist imaginaries, where new mythologies and futures unfold beyond occupation, nostalgia, and external gaze.

The performance is part of the Reykjavík Dance Festival program. The festival program can be found at https://www.reykjavikdancefestival.com/
