DesignTalks 2026

The international design conference DesignTalks will be held on May 6th 2026 in Harpa,
Reykjavík during the Icelandic design festival DesignMarch.

Connections will weave their way throughout the programme in tune with this year’s theme of the
DesignMarch festival. A timely reflection on the fundamental human need for connection in an era of
both hyperconnectivity and disconnection.

• Hjalti Karlsson, graphic designer, co-founder of Karlssonwilker

• Stefan Sagmeister, designer

• Dorte Mandrup, architect, founder & creative director

• Kristjana S.Williams, multidisciplinary artist

• 1+1+1, experimental collaboration

DesignTalks is the keynote event of DesignMarch and has become an important forum for inspiration
and conversation about design and architecture, current challenges and futures. Many leading
designers and architects have joined over the years, including Bjarke Ingels, Calin Klein, Snøhetta,
Jessica Walsh, Liam Young, James Merry and many local professionals. It is curated by Hlín Helga
Guðlaugsdóttir and Þura Stína Kristleifsdóttir produces the event for Iceland Design and Architecture.
