Last Christmas, the holiday album by GDRN and Magnús Jóhann was a huge hit and became one of the best-selling vinyl records in Iceland.

Featuring several festive songs, it included Christmas gems such as “Yfir fannhvíta jörð”, “Komdu um jólin”, and “Heim til þín”. The album also included an original song by GDRN and Magnús, performed with Icelandic legend, KK.

For Christmas 2025, the duo will host a magical Christmas concert at Fríkirkjan í Reykjavík, where they’ll perform songs from the album along with other beloved tracks. The concert will take place at 9:00 PM on December 20, and tickets go on sale at tix.is on September 15. GDRN has made a strong mark on the Icelandic music scene since releasing her debut album Hvað ef in 2018. That record received numerous music awards, a nomination for the Nordic Music Prize, and widespread attention. Since then, she has released a number of collaborations with other artists, as well as two more solo albums: GDRN in 2020 and Frá mér til þín in 2024. In addition to her music career, she also starred in one of the lead roles in the Netflix series Katla.

Magnús Jóhann Ragnarsson has been highly active in the Icelandic music scene in recent years as a pianist, producer, composer, and more, working with a wide range of artists. He has released eight albums under his own name and two EPs. He was named Performer of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards in both 2023 and 2025. Recently, he has also served as music director for the TV show Idol. Artists such as Bubbi Morthens, Friðrik Dór, Bríet, Ingibjörg Turchi, Skúli Sverrisson, and Moses Hightower are among the many interdisciplinary artists he has collaborated with.
