Founded in 2017 by renowned trumpet soloist Prof. Reinhold Friedrich, the Reinhold Friedrich Brass Quintet brings together five of Europe’s leading brass soloists in a vibrant chamber music ensemble. The Quintet consists of Prof. Reinhold Friedrich (solotrumpet, Lucerne Festival Orchestra), Prof. Jeroen Berwaerts (former solotrumpet NDR Symphony Orchestra), Lasse Mauritzen (1. Solohorn, Danish National Symphony Orchestra), Prof. Ian Bousfield (former solotrombone, Vienna Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestra), and Thomas Røisland (solotuba, Danish National Symphony Orchestra).
Driven by a shared commitment to artistic excellence, curiosity for the brass quintet repertoire, and the joy of performing together at the highest technical level, the ensemble has quickly established itself on the international stage. Tonight’s concert is a part of Reinhold Friedrich Brass Quintets North Atlantic Concert Tour through Denmark, The Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland.
