Jaymz Bee will screen four short films, lasting just under one hour and then will do a Q&A after the screening (in English)
1. Wild Music
A comedy about a guy who doesn't get modern technology, but with the help of two young women, ends up making YouTube/TikTok stars out of some eccentric seniors. This short film was shot on film and has won dozens of awards around the world. It includes many songs.
2. Beatspeak
Aliens place a bet in a bar in outer space. The challenge: to find a perfect and normal couple on Earth? Good luck with that! They discover everyone on Earth is eccentric and there is no such thing as a perfect couple. This film has also won a handful of awards.
3. Artists and Aliens
Can art and music save the Universe? There is an intergalactic court battle to discuss the importance of music and the arts. This film won the most awards of any of Bees short films. A beautiful message and a really fun film!
This evening will also include the World Premiere of Bee's brand new short film, "Lucky Strikes"
Lucky Strikes
When Max, an imaginative and determined young boy, spots a homeless man in the park, he’s convinced he’s found a leprechaun who’s lost his magic. Undeterred by skepticism, Max embarks on “Operation Leprechaun,” determined to help the man—Finn—reclaim his powers. Through painting, music, and childlike belief, Max helps awaken Finn’s creativity and spirit, attracting a diverse crowd and sparking community connection. As colours return to Finn’s life and his makeshift art stall flourishes, Max realizes that real magic isn’t found in gold or rainbows, but in kindness, creativity, and seeing the extraordinary in others.
