Sölvi Kolbeinsson plays the music of Eric Dolphy

Icelandic saxophonist Sölvi Kolbeinsson, along with his quintet will perform music from Dolphy's short but prolific career. He died at the age of 36 but left us with close to 30 wonderful albums. We will perform his pieces with respect to the original recordings, while simultaneously finding creative ways to bring them new life. Eric Dolphy created a unique soundscape, in his compositions and playing style on the alto saxophone, flute and bass clarinet.

The quintet consists of:
