In the remote wilderness of northern Sweden lies a road that leads to nowhere. Built in 1955 to connect Kiruna to Bardufoss, Norway, construction stopped midway, leaving a 20-kilometer stretch isolated. The small towns along it remain cut off, forcing residents to cross the insidious Lake Torneträsk to reach the outside world. Filmed over three years by Johan Palmgren, this easygoing documentary captures daily life along the road, blending stunning landscapes with intimate portraits of its resilient inhabitants. Do they truly wish for connection, or has isolation become their way of life? A reflective journey through time, nature, and human resilience.
