Iris Kramer Quartet

To end the festival October, month of culture in the municipality of Árborg, a celebration of jazz in its finest form, with a recently established jazz quartet from Hamburg, Germany. A young bass player, Henriette Thorunn met true veteran of jazz, Iris Kramer, at the jazz festival Mannheim, celebrating women in jazz and featuring compositions by Iris. They subsequently founded a quartet, with Jonas Oppermann piano and Jan Hauf percussion, and have played concerts throughout Northern Germany, with several exciting projects ahead. Their music is indeed inspired by Iceland! Nature, culture as well as winds and weather are a strong influence since Iris lived and worked in the Westfjords for some years and pays regular visits to her second home country. Special guest in the concert is renowned opera singer Hlín Pétursdóttir Behrens, known for her collaborative projects in a variety of genres,
who has worked with Iris since 2016.
