The ensemble ELECTRIO was born from the previous collaboration between guitarist Francesco Rista, electroacoustic composer Simone Giordano and soprano Sandra Lind Þorsteinsdóttir. Their varied interests include crossover music, baroque music as well as electronic contemporary music. It is certainly a non-traditional ensemble that wants to unite the “classical” world with the “contemporary” music world. The sweet sonority of the voice with the clear and crystalline sound of the guitar together with sounds of multiple colours belonging to the electronics. They debuted at MENGI in Iceland with their first project STABAT MATER in July 2022. In 2023 they won the Klima Klang Festival Award and performed as a part of the festival in KoncertKirken in Copenhagen in October that same year. In February 2024 they performed at the Konservatoriets Koncertsal in Copenhagen. Thanks to the support of the foundations Ýlir and Koda Kultur they will perform in Norðurljós concert hall in Harpa, Reykjavík, as a part of the concert series Sunday Classics in October 2024.
