Vocal ensembles Kyrja and Yrkja together present the spectacular All-Night Vigil of Sergei Rachmaninoff in Hallgrímskirkja, with twenty singers and no conductor.

On All Souls’ Day, November 1st, with summer ending and the light fading, we will gather together to commemorate the dead in a ritual of light and music. Together we remember our loved ones, and we dedicate the concert especially to the victims of war in Ukraine and Palestine.

Kyrja is a male vocal ensemble founded in 2022 with the aim of pushing the limits of choral music. Yrkja is a brand new female vocal ensemble founded in 2025, under the same principles. Both are under the artistic direction of Philip Barkhudarov and Sólveig Sigurðardóttir.

The concert is held in collaboration with Hallgrímskirkja and is a part of the church' Autumn concert series.
