Stories of the Heart is a 70-minute concert experience with Thor Breidfjord alone on stage, with voice, piano and guitar at the centre. At this milestone, as Thor celebrates his 55th birthday, he invites the audience into a personal storytelling concert with brand-new songs, still warm from the heart, in both English and Icelandic. Narration is in Icelandic. Thor sings and shares how stories and storytelling have been at the core of his life, from his childhood years in the north and with relatives among the islands of Breiðafjörður to the theatre, music and the human moments that become songs. Thor is known, among other things, for his international career in musical theatre, but this time the focus is on the music of the singer-songwriter. These concerts continue the journey begun with his album Running Naked, which was nominated for an ECMA Award in Canada nearly two decades ago. The concert is intimate, vivid and heartfelt, where stories of love, memory, loss, joy and human experience are woven together with new music. There is no band and no grand spectacle, only the performer, his instruments and the stories that have shaped him. Stories of the Heart is an evening for those who wish to listen, feel and travel through life in songs, stories and the beating of a heart.
