Andrew Sim
Andrew is a multi award winning comedian who started performing stand up at the age of fifteen, and has now been gigging for half his life. He’s been performing in comedy clubs, Fringe festivals and shady nightclubs all over the world. Now residing in Iceland, he is the festival director of the Reykjavik Fringe, founder and host of Reyk-Ja-Freaks, as well as producing regular live events with local and international acts.
Dan Nava
Dan Nava is a Venezuelan-born comedian and content creator who moved to Iceland in 2016. He has been doing comedy since 2020 and performed in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Reykjavik Fringe Festival in which he won the “notice me award” both times. He also is one latiniced co-hosts, a podcast that covers living the in-between stage of being a foreigner and living in Iceland. His comedy style is a mix of observational and anecdotal with just a bit of sarcasm that covers his experiences with immigration, learning icelandic and being openly and proudly bisexual.
Dan Roh
Dan Roh is a Korean-American comedian & writer and winner of the Reykjavíik Fringe 2021 “Rising Star” award for his debut show. He has performed at Þjóðleikhus Kjallarinn and was part of a 2024 Gríman nominated show. Dan explores race, biracial families and the complexities of life as an immigrant with an upbeat and vulnerable storytelling style.
Glo
Glo Chitwood is from Colorado. She is part of the award-winning comedy collective Cat Booty, which has been performing internationally for a decade. She also writes and performs sketch comedy in the show Reyk-ja-freaks.
Joy
Joy is a Turkish trans woman, comedian, and menace. She writes and performs for Reyk-Ja-Freaks, she’s a regular on Drag Standup, ApokalpystiK and will be performing at REC-Arts in February and at the Reykjavik Fringe for her first solo show in June. She’s only been performing for a year but she’s already made an impact on the queer comedy scene. Good or bad, only time will tell.
Sparkle
Multidisciplinary comedian/poet/designer Sindri "Sparkle" Freyr is the token Icelander of this group. Worry not, they still further the theme of the show by sticking out like a sore thumb in most social situations since they are a two meter tall trans woman. They have mostly made a name for themselves in the English speaking drag and comedy scenes of downtown Reykjavík though their biggest claim to fame has to be appearing fully naked on TV for 10 million people. Among other places they have performed in Þjóðleikhúsið, Iðnó, NASA, all of the queer friendly bars downtown as well as having a show currently running in Tjarnarbíó.
