The British chamber group Riot Ensemble made a striking entrance onto the European contemporary music scene in 2012 and has since performed widely at concerts and festivals across Europe. They have established a strong partnership with Dark Music Days, last appearing at the festival in 2019. Known for their versatility, the ensemble adapts its size to suit different performances, ranging from soloists to a full chamber group. For this year's Dark Music Days, the ensemble features violinist Sarah Saviet, violist Stephen Upshaw, cellist Louise McMonagle, and guitarist Pétur Jónasson. The program includes the world premiere of a new work by Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson, alongside pieces by Edmund Finnis, Dobrinka Tabakova, Lisa Streich, and Anna Þorvaldsdóttir.

The concert will last around one hour, without intermission.
