The Reykjavik Big Band has its annual New year’s concert “The golden age of swing” at Eldborg hall in Harpa on Sunday January 5th at 8pm. The program is dedicated to the swing era, 1930-1950, when big bands ruled the world and leading conductors, soloists and singers were the pop stars of their time.

New and exciting program every year from the books of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey and others. Only original arrangements are performed, and no cost is spared to make this a memorable event.

Guest singers of the year are Stefanía Svavarsdóttir, Björgvin Halldórsson and Bogomil Font. They may even bring their instruments as well. Sigurdur Flosason conducts and introduces the music.
