Á Balli koma saman atvinnudansarar og áhugadansarar – breikdansari frá níunda áratugnum, ballerína á eftirlaunum, samkvæmisdans stjarna, freestyle goðsögn, bollýwood dansari, streetdansari, dansarar Íslenska dansflokksins, gó-gó dansari, dansnemandi og nútímadansari sem elskar að dansa við Bob Marley. Það sem þau eiga öll sameiginlegt er ást þeirra á dansi.

Ball býður dans elskendum á öllum aldri, með ólíka líkama, mismunandi bakgrunn og reynslu að stíga upp á svið og dansa saman.

Hvert og eitt þeirra býður upp á dans, velur sína tónlist og finnur leið til þess að deila sínum dansi með hópnum. Dansinn á ekki bara að snúast um afburðartækni eða ómælda hæfileika hvers og eins heldur einnig um upplifunina á því að dansa alla þessa dansa saman.

Rétt eins og gerist á balli.

Iceland Dance Company presents: Ball

A performance by artist duo Alexander Roberts and Ásrún Magnúsdóttir.

Ball is performed by a diverse group of amateur and professional dancers – a break dancer from the 1980’s, a retired ballerina, a ballroom star, a Freestyle legend, a bollywood dancer, a street dancer, Iceland Dance Company dancers, a go-go dancer, a dance student and a modern dancer who loves to dance to Bob Marley. The thing that unites everyone in this group is the love for dance.

Ball makes space for dance lovers of many ages, backgrounds, experiences and body types to take to the stage and dance together.

Everybody brings a dance, chooses their own music, and finds a way of sharing that dance with the group. At the same time, just like in a ball, it is not only about virtuosity or the brilliance of each dance, it is also about the experience that comes from dancing these dances together.
