Welcome to Scandinavia moist with nostalgia! Welcome to our party! Let’s raise our glasses to Scandinavia!

White Beauty displays and dismantles Scandinavian images and landscapes and literally takes place on and around the green north. It is a collaboration between Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian artists about radicalization processes in The Nordic countries.

In White Beauty the performers plunge into Nordic traditions, emotionally loaded rhetoric and aesthetics that feed the radicalization processes in Scandinavia. The performers  seduce the audience, and themselves, with warm togetherness. They create a party where everyone is welcomed! Entertainment mixes with awkwardness, absurd and uncomfortable elements that break the party atmosphere. The nostalgia is self-repeating and exhausting.

White Beauty is the first performance by Mellanmjölk productions, a group which  consists of Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish performance, circus, dance and visual artists. Mellanmjölk productions  works collectively, questioning the hierarchies and work structures within us and the effects these have on the work itself. The aim of the group is to conduct open research about collective working, the forms and methods of the creative work and the relation of the work with particular audiences.
