She won the talent competition A Star for a Night onBBC at the age of 13, signed with one of the biggest record companies in the world at the age of 15 and released her debut album at the age of 16. She has sold over 12 million albums worldwide and her success has paved the way for a new generation of female British soul singers.

Her debut, The Soul of Sessions, was released in 2003 and became an instant hit. Her second album, Mind, Body & Soul, which was also successful, included the popular hit song You Had Me. Both the song and the album were nominated for Grammy Awards and Stone herself was nominated for the best new artist. That very same year, Stone became the youngest female artist to top the UK Albums Chart. She has received numerous awards in her career, including one Grammy and two Brit Awards.
