The Reykjavik International Games will take place in January 2016. The city of Reykjavík will welcome sports participants, for the ninth time, from all over the world, to an elite multisport competition that mostly takes place in Laugardalur, the Valley of Sport. Now, for the fourth time, the games will be held over two weekends from 21st to 31st of January.
Athletes will compete at a high level in 22 different sports in world class facilities. The schedule can be found here
Tickets for the competition
A bracelet that gives you admittance to all competitions, it costs 5000 ISK. Bracelets will be handed out in the Laugardalsholl sports hall on Engjavegur 8, 104 Reykjavik a few days before the games start and during the competition. Opening hours will be announced closer to the event. There is free admittance for minors, 15 years old and younger.
Lectures
In cooperation with The National Olympic and Sports Association of Iceland and Reykjavik University coaches, participants and other attendees interested are invited to follow some interesting lectures about elite training. The lectures are a part of RIG 2016 and will take place on Thursday January 21st from 17:00 to 21:00 at Reykjavik University, Menntavegi 1, 101 Reykjavik. A ticket for the lectures costs 3500 ISK with A light meal included. Please show your tix.is ticket at the entrance.
Dinner at RIG celebration
On Sunday January 24th and Sunday January 31st there will be a big celebration in the Laugardalsholl Sports Hall on Engjavegur 8, 104 Reykjavik. The winners in each sport discipline will receive an award after some great entertainment with music and other fun stuff. Tickets for the dinner before the RIG celebration cost 3999 ISK. Tickets will be handed out in the Laugardalshöll Sports Hall a ew days before the games start and during the competition. Opening hours will be announced closer to the event.
