Event info

Ögnun is a locally held project by the Young Nordic Music festival (Ung Nordisk Musik or UNM), which is held at the end of August in Tampere, Finland. Ögnun premiers all new works by composers who will represent Iceland at this year's festival. The compositions presented were created in collaboration with instrumentalists and instructors at a workshop earlier this year.

The event kicks off with Hildur Elísa Jónsdóttir’s video work, Nú erum Torvelt, available in Tjarnarbíó between 16:30 and 19:00.

The live performance program begins at 20.00.

Program:
Áslaug Magnúsdóttir: mutations
Gulli Björnsson: Úr heljar ofni
Katrín Helga Ólafsdóttir: Bind-yndi
Krõõt-Kärt Kaev and Örnólfur Eldon: conduit/einsundzweiunddreiundvierund

Additionally, the pieces will be recorded and presented weekly online after the premiere. Some of the works explore the medium in specific terms, such as Pétur Eggertsson’s work, Chamber Music III: Secrets of Tonality, that has been adjusted for an online exhibition for the event.
