Event info

Border is a radical take on Nordic folklore, and follows the border guard Tina, who is a a malformed misfit, but she has an incredible sixth sense for identifying smugglers, where her superhuman sense of smell makes her an invaluable team member. A kind of human sniffer dog, she can sense shame, fear and guilt on travellers, until one day when she encounters Vore, the first person she can’t identify, then she will have to reevaluate her own existence.

An exciting, intelligent mix of romance, Nordic noir, social realism and supernatural horror that defies and subverts genre conventions. Directed by Iranian-born Ali Abbasi and co-written by John Ajvide Lindqvist and Isabella Eklöf, the authors of Swedish vampire movie “Let the Right One In”, “Border” entertained and baffled audiences at Cannes Film Festival 2018, where it won the Un Certain Regard competition.

ONLY shown with English subtitles whole summer long in 2019!
