An international panel of judges will select the Icelandic representative to the 67th annual Miss Universe competition which is telecast to over 100 countries and millions of viewers. This past year, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters from South Africa won the coveted Miss Universe 2017 title in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

Our current Miss Universe Iceland 2017, Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir, will crown her Iceland successor the evening of August 21, 2018 at the Hljómahöll Stapi Concert and Conference Hall in Reykjanesbær.
