Um viðburðinn

"A ritualized experience through the body. The work is inspired by the evolution of two bodies, their gravitational dynamics and the sacred dimension of a meditative action. Emerging from the ground and through mutual cooperation finding one self in a circular coexistence with the other. Seeking for ways of relating, the rope is an element of holding into a concrete task. Using orbits as choreographic concepts, playing with collaboration, tension and limitations. Developing and transforming into walking mandalas, leading us to the encounter and coalition of these two bodies, clashing into their flesh, using and manipulating their skin.

We are interested in the dialogues between ideas from ritualistic elements in contemporary performance and dance with an ongoing corporal exploration. We have developed a process based on connection and communion, where we believe in dance and performance as todays human ritual expression. Driven by our need of generating sincere communication and deeper connection as performers and with the audience, we direct our work towards topics of togetherness and brotherhood. About reclaiming and rediscovering contact with our bodies and ourselves as physical sensing beings, striving to convey a particular point of view on intimacy and eroticism transcending moulds and social categories.
