Sónar Reykjavik are proud to announce details of a specially curated event being organised and held in collaboration with Icelandic music label and promoter FALK Records. The event will be held on the evening of Thursday 15th of March at the Húrra music venue, and will be free to all Sonar wristband holders

Since 2008, FALK Records has become one of the main pillars in Iceland’s DIY music scene releasing music from a variety of Icelandic and international artists, showcasing a wide variety of music, from power electronics and noise rock, to underground rap, dub techno and electro.

For this event, FALK have brought together a line-up that brings the best new electronic music from Iceland in line with some of the most forward thinking European artists today.

VARG – The alias of Jonas Rönnberg, this Swedish producer and co-owner of the Northern Electronics label has become one of the most prolific and exciting electronic music producers in Europe today. With an idiosyncratic take on power electronics, techno, and dark ambient, his ‘Nordic Flora’ series of album releases was one of the electronic music highlights of 2017, receiving overwhelming critical praise. https://soundcloud.com/varg

ZIÚR – Berlin producer ZIÚR has been making waves with her crushing take on club music productions. After initial EP releases and remixing for the likes of Peaches, Air Max '97 and Bonaventure, she was labeled as “one to watch” by FACT magazine in 2017. LORD PUSSWHIP – One of Iceland’s most distinctive hip hop producers, Lord Pusswhip already has two albums under his belt, ‘Lord Pusswhip is Wack’, and ‘Lord Pusswhip is Dead’ (released in 2017 by FALK). Moving from hip hop, he will be releasing his new EP of hardcore jungle sounds on Icelandic label bbbbbb Records in March 2018. XARG - a new project, consisting of FALK co-founder Aðalsteinn Jörundsson and Þórður Bjarki Arnarsson. XARG be all about the hopekrushing techno beats, and paint blistering vocals. Expect big things in 2018 from these two. https://soundcloud.com/xarg

IDK/IDA – The project of Danish born, and Reykjavik resident, Ida Schuften Juhl, IDK/IDA has become an essential part of the Reykjavik underground music scene. With songs that convey deep bass, complex beats and a web of field recordings create an atmosphere that wraps itself around her powerful yet fragile voice, her brilliant debut album ‘The Bug’ was released at the end of last year. https://soundcloud.com/idkida
