Nowak, pólskur verktaki, leiðir hóp verkamanna til London í þeim tilgangi að útvega ódýrt vinnuafl fyrir ríkisstarfsmann sem er búsettur þar. Þegar einmanaleiki og freistingar hellast yfir mennina þarf Nowak að sjá til þess að verkefnið haldist gangandi.

ENSKA
Nowak (Jeremy Irons), a Polish contractor, leads a group of workers to London so they can provide cheap labor for a government official based there. Nowak has to manage the project and the men as they encounter the temptations of the West and loneliness and separation from their families.
