Aldur og dans er viðfangsefni Völu í Let's Dance þar sem hún skoðar dans út frá félagslegu sjónarhorni og rýnir í samband fólks við dans. Hún hefur að undanförnu boðið eldri borgurum í Reykjavík upp í dans og nokkur þeirra taka þátt í sýningunni.
Vala has been occupied with the aging body and its physical knowledge that can not be expressed through verbal or written language. She has been researching dance in a social context and the connection that people can experience through dancing, to oneself and to others. She has been offering free dance classes for the elderly in Reykjavik this summer and some of them join her on stage in the work Let's Dance.
Vala has worked as a dance artist since graduating from the National Academy of the Arts in Norway in 1998. She is an active member of the independent dance scene in Iceland and has choreographed number of works. Vala danced for years internationally, mainly with Sidi Larbi's company Eastman and with the Icelandic Dance Company here in Iceland.
