Um viðburðinn

Note: In addition to this ticket, all festival guests must have a RVK Fringe wristband, which are always available for 1000 ISK online or at the door. The wristband is valid throughout the festival and offers various discounts.

"Origine" talks about the beginning of the world showing to the audience the possibility of two starting points: one from the Catholic point of view, from the history about Adamo and Eva and another one from the legendary will of the Chaos’ God: Eris. The character in the choreography can be both of those female figures, because we can’t know what story’s the right one.
During the piece a gold apple will be shown to the audience to identify the two figures: because it’s the unique symbol for both of them.
That dualism can be seen as a technique point of view: the movement’s going to change moment by moment. So if you try to formulate an idea about our origin, immediately it couldn’t be there anymore.

This specific dance solo is made to be a site-specific solo adapting itself to any place and context. Its premiére was in September 2019 at the festival: "A.R.T.E. rie Rassegne d'Ipotesi Espressive" in Cantalupo in Sabina (RI), Italy.
Then it was performed in a live-streaming form for the Reykjavik Fringe Festival – July 2020 (where it won the award “Take my breath away”) and in a digital version for the Stockholm Fringe Festival – September 2020.

“Origin of ourselves, human but not too much.
Origin of the life, to rebirth from it.
Origin of anything.”
cit. Eva or Eris?

Origine is 4 minutes long. Two other performances will take place before and after Origine, the audio piece El Grillo (20 minutes) and storytelling DISORDER (10 minutes), making the event last for approximately 40 minutes. The ticket is valid for all three performances.
