Event info

Remember history classes at school? Remember all the women you learned about? No? Neither do we. That doesn't mean, however, that this half of humanity never did anything worth recounting.

Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir mezzo soprano and Alda Rut Garðarsdóttir Vestamann pianist pay tribute to some of the lesser-known composers of the Baroque era. All the composers have it in common to have been born women and therefore have not gotten their place in music history books despite being influential in their own time. The music is superb and Tinna and Alda intend to introduce it to new listeners at Hörpuhorn at 1pm the 27th of October.

The composers who will be heard are:
Francesca Caccini
Barbara Strozzi
Elisabeth Jaquet de la Guerre
Francesca Campana

Participants
Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir, singer and actress
Alda Rut Vestmann, pianist
