The Icelandic Rock choir invites you to a sing along party in Harpa, thursday the 25th of november at 8 pm. Come and sing with us rock songs from artists such as Queen, Toto, Uriah Heep, The Eagles, Metallica, Guns ´n´ Roses, Jon Bon Jovi, Iron maiden and many other rock bands.

It‘s certainly going to be a powerful atmosphere in Kaldalón, Harpa this evening.

The Rock choir band are: Sigurgeir Sigmundsson on guitar, Thorvaldur Ingveldarson on drums and our rock leader Matthías V. Baldursson will be playing on the piano and conduct the sing along party.

The Icelandic Rockchoir is a 6 years old choir, with over a 40 people, that has gone different ways than it is usual in choir singing. Some of the singers have a lot off experience in choir, pop and rock performing. The result is a powerful and totally unique sound that is clearly new of its kind in Iceland and something worth looking at.

The choir was founded in the spring of 2015 by Matthías Baldursson and a few singers who wanted to make a different choir more designed for pop and rock singers. The outcome was Rokkkór Íslands (The Icelandic Rockchoir). The first project was to go in a studio and record a few well-chosen songs that have been released regularly in the media. The first performance of the choir was in Eldborg (Harpa) autumn 2015 on the anniversary concert of Sniglabandið. After that it was no turning back and The Rockchoir of Iceland was clearly here to stay.

Famous rock songs from all over will be on the program so it‘s certainly going to be a powerful atmosphere in Harpa this evening.
