Sigríður Hjördís Önnudóttir, flute player, gives a concert in Hörpuhorn, an open space located on the first floor of Harpa, right in front of Eldborg. Admission is free and everybody welcome.
The concert is part of the "Harpa Welcome Home Series", an annual concert series, featuring young Icelandic soloists that have finished their studies abroad. This concert series is a collaborative project between Harpa and the FÍT classical department of FÍH.

Sigríður Hjördís Önnudóttir began her musical studies in
2002 in Akranes in Iceland and continued her studies at the Reykjavík School of Music under the guidance of Hallfríður Ólafsdóttir. Sigríður was one of the winners of the Reykjavík School of Music’s soloist competition in 2013 and as a result played a solo with the Reykjavík School String Ensemble. In 2014 - 2015 Sigríður studied at the Royal Academy of the Arts in Antwerp under the guidance of Aldo Baertens.
Sigríður was one of the soloists with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra at the “Young Soloists” concert in 2015. From 2015 she studied at the Iceland Academy of the Arts from where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2017. Sigríður pursued further studies with Lorna McGhee at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh from where she graduated with a Master in Performance in 2024.
She is now based in Iceland where she works as a flute teacher and substitute in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
