About
The trio of Helga Laufey, Jón Óskar and Guðjón has been working together for some time and will be joined at the concert by an expressive jazz trumpet player, Birkir Freyr Matthíasson. The repertoire is varied and one can hear songs by masters such as Duke Ellington, Cedar Walton, Hoagy Carmichael, Jack DeJohnette and Joe Henderson, but also more current jazz music by Javier Girotto and Scott Colley. In addition the quartet will play soulful African themes, old folk songs and brand new original music.
