The end of 2018 saw the release of the latest album by pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs which is a collaboration between her trio and the brilliant Finnish trumpet player Verneri Pohjola. The album “Ancestry” has received much praise in the media, including a 4 star review in the British magazine Jazzwise. Sunna and the album are also nominated to the Icelandic Music Awards in 4 categories for jazz (Album of the Year, Composer of the Year, Composition of the Year and Performer of the Year).
