Each year the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Iceland Academy of the Arts sponsor a competition for young soloists. The competition is open to students at the collegiate level, irrespective of which school they attend, and the winners perform a solo with the ISO in Harpa's Eldborg Concert Hall. This year's conductor is the Russian Daniel Raiskin, Chief Conductor of the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie in Koblenz and the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra in Lódz, Poland.
The ISO and the Iceland Academy of the Arts join forces to support our most talented young performers on their path towards the world of professional musicianship. The competition will be held in autumn 2015, and the names of the winners will be published on the ISO website.
