The Iceland Symphony's Christmas concerts have become an indispensable part of many families' holiday celebrations. The programme focuses on the holiday spirit, with Christmas classics at the centre of the stage. Young soloists perform Ingibjörg Þorbergs' lovely Hin fyrstu jól, and students from the Iceland Ballet Academy dance to Émile Waldteufel's Skaters' Waltz. A group of outstanding violinists assists the Iceland Symphony in its performance of Lord of the Dance, and the Reykjanesbær Music School Bell Choir rings in the Christmas season.

The soloists, Dísella Lárusdóttir and Kolbrún Völkudóttir, together with the Langholtskirkja choirs and the Litlu Sprotarnir Sign Language Choir, perform a broad range of Icelandic and foreign Christmas music that is sure to leave every guest in a holiday frame of mind. The ingenious Barbara the Clown acts as Master of Ceremonies at the concert, which will be interpreted in Icelandic sign language.

Students from the Árbær and Breiðholt School Band perform holiday favourites before the concert.
