Event info

Mozart's astoundingly beautiful Clarinet Concerto was one of the composer's last works, written only weeks before his untimely death. Tonight's performance is in the capable hands of Arngunnur Árnadóttir, who joined the ISO as principal clarinettist in 2012. Arngunnur studied at the Hochschule fur Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, graduating with high honours.

Robert Schumann composed his Spring Symphony in only four days – and nights, during a period of fervid inspiration in 1841. This exceptionally lively work is one of the composer's most loved pieces. Jórunn Viðar's Eldur is a watershed work – the first orchestral composition written by an Icelandic woman. German conductor Cornelius Meister has won a number of awards for his work with the Vienna Radio Orchestra, where he is Principal Conductor.
