Icelandic All-star Jazz at Harpa!

Memorial concert at Harpa June 8th celebrating the 80th birthday of Icelandic music legend Árni Scheving (1938-2007). The multi-instrumentalist was a mainstay on the Icelandic music scene spanning six decades, playing and recording with the who’s who of Icelandic music. Some of his early collaborators will perform June 8th, including legendary singer Ragnar Bjarnason and drummer Guðmundur Steingrímsson, both in their 80s. Other performers include The Reykjavik Big Band, Sigríður Thorlacíus, Gammar, Annes, Einars Scheving Quartet, Þórir Baldursson, Eyþór Gunnarsson, Björn Thoroddsen, Óskar Guðjónsson, Reynir Sigurðsson, and Stefán S. Stefánsson, as well as some of Iceland’s youngest and most talented jazz musicians.

All proceeds will go to the Árni Scheving Memorial Fund, which supports up and coming music students financially
